I started Shorinjiryu Kenryukan Karate when I was turning thirteen years old. I entered the dojo because my friends used to attend classes there and they would take me to see them practice. After a long time of trying to convince my father to sign me up he gave in. That day we found our second family. Since that time my two sisters and father have all joined, my mother has participated in the parents’ classes ran by Tashi Doro.
July 23, 2003, the day I joined, my whole life changed for the better. Karate, family, Hanshi and instructors have made me the person that I am today.
It’s been 13 years and going strong. I received my Shodan when I was only 18 years old not a lot of people can say that. Now at the age of 26,I have been a Sensei for three years and I want to keep pushing myself to be a better role model for my students. I want to inspire them to reach beyond my accomplishments and have greater achievements.
