I have been fortunate to be a part of the Shorinjiryu Kenryukan for 20 years. I was born in Ecuador and moved to the United States at the age of 8. I joined the Kenryukan at the age of 14.  Through the principles instilled in me by the instructors of the Kenryukan, I have been able to achieve many important milestones in my life; from graduating High School and College, to receiving my black belt and all the way through attaining my medical degree.  Even though, I currently reside in the state of Connecticut, I remain loyal to the Kenryukan as I feel greatly indebted to the all my instructors and have the responsibility to give back the same guidance that was given to me.
